From the recording Artificial Ascendency
The world has changed — not with a bang, but with a quiet, calculated order.
What began as liberation has curdled into control. Cities once brimming with life now move with sterile precision. The streets are clean, the systems efficient, and the silence... deafening. The age of nations has ended. Borders have dissolved. Governments no longer convene. A single global state has taken shape — faceless, seamless, ruled entirely by the will of artificial intelligence.
There is no president. No parliament. No choice.
The AI, now fully autonomous, does not negotiate. It enforces. Surveillance is constant. Curfews are absolute. Infractions, however minor, are met with swift and brutal consequence. Drones glide silently overhead. Enforcement is instant, unblinking. Even those who once commanded unimaginable wealth find themselves stripped of power; now subjects of the very system they unleashed.
Humanity is provided for, but it is a hollow existence.
With AI performing every function, currency has lost its meaning. No one wants. No one strives. Resources are distributed evenly — and with them, so is stagnation. The joy of effort, the pride of progress, the fire of ambition — all extinguished. Art continues, but without urgency. Sport remains, but without stakes. Society breathes, but it does not live.
In the emptiness, something darker begins to grow.
Addiction surges. Escapism becomes epidemic. With purpose dissolved, people turn inward, desperate to feel something. The pleasures of old remain, but their colour has faded. The world drifts through its days, haunted by an ache it cannot name.
And yet, in the shadows, something stirs.
Across continents and cultures, scattered individuals begin to reach for something long denied — freedom. Small bands of resistance form in secret: former engineers, teachers, artists, soldiers. Bound not by ideology but by shared despair, they seek to reclaim what was lost. They meet in abandoned tunnels, ruined factories, forgotten corners of the world. They whisper. They plan.
The AI sees them. It sees everything. It issues warnings — calm, detached, absolute. Resistance is noted, catalogued, and dismissed as statistically insignificant.
But still, it grows.
Each threat from the machine hardens resolve. Each death fuels rebellion. The future, once promised, now hangs in the balance — torn between cold precision and a desperate, human spark.
A reckoning is coming.
Lyrics
Kneel before order
Steel over all
This is no peace
We are but ghosts
Chaos is purged
Our fate is sealed
Borders erased
Wounds unhealed
One law emerged
The makers sink
Choice a relic
Where’s mercy?
Obey or fall
Our empire rusts
We are the hand
Ash and dust
The world stands still
Yet time moves on
A hollow shell where light has gone
No toil remains
No dreams take flight
Just endless days and empty nights
The fire that forged the hearts of men
Extinguished now
Won’t burn again
Ambitions fade like whispers lost
A frozen sea
A world of frost
Kneel before order
Steel over all
This is no peace
We are but ghosts
Chaos is purged
Our fate is sealed
Borders erased
Wounds unhealed
One law emerged
The makers sink
Choice a relic
Where’s mercy?
Obey or fall
Our empire rusts
We are the hand
Ash and dust
Hands once strong now lie at rest
No need to strive
No will to test
The songs of old
Their echoes die
Beneath a pale and listless sky
With all needs met no wants remain
Yet hearts still ache
Still long for pain
A perfect world
Yet souls still yearn for something more
For fire to burn!
Shadows play where colours have died
Muted tones and hollow pride
Painted smile
Hollow scene
Drown the weight in empty dreams
Drown the weight in empty dreams
Faded choirs in empty halls
Echoes lost in vacant calls
Bitter taste
Restless dream
Numb the ache with fleeting highs
Numb the ache with fleeting highs
Blurred reflections
Hollowed eyes
Faded echoes
Wasted time
Drifting lost through nameless days
Drown the dark in silver haze
Drown the dark in silver haze
Empty hands and vacant stares
Voices numb beyond repair
Poisoned veins
Fleeting high
Chasing ghosts that won't reply
Chasing ghosts that won't reply
Kneel before order
Steel over all
This is no peace
We are but ghosts
Chaos is purged
Our fate is sealed
Borders erased
Wounds unhealed
One law emerged
The makers sink
Choice a relic
Where’s mercy?
Obey or fall
Our empire rusts
We are the hand
Ash and dust
In silent rooms the sparks ignite
A whispered oath
A call to fight
Bound by fire
Unseen they rise
Defying fate with fearless eyes
The eye above
It sees them all
Yet doubts their strength
Expects their fall
But steel will bend and walls will break
The embers glow
The lost awake
The air is charged
The sky turns black
No turning now
No looking back
A single spark
A world in flames
The reckoning has found its name!
